The third DVN Workshop last week in Paris will very likely remain a landmark, certainly for the more than 80 DVN Gold members who had the opportunity to attend.
On 24 May we’ll publish a complete report of the event, which was focused on challenging Tier-2 suppliers about their contribution to lighting innovations. Watch for pictures which attest to everybody’s satisfaction and pleasure sharing such wonderful moments: the opening cocktail gala in a unique venue overhanging the Seine river and lighted by the Eiffel Tower’s gleam, brightened up with a French buffet and red wine tasting, and the hottest point of this evening: the DVN Award ceremony .
We on the staff of Driving Vision News—like all the participants and community members—appreciate the open and genuine contribution of all parties and congratulate all attendees for their efforts to make this workshop a success:
– The car makers for their morning lectures by Wolfgang Huhn (Audi), Mathieu Lips (Renault), and Laurent Serezat (PSA), about the synergies between Lighting and Driver assistance, the pros and cons of LED introduction in automotive lighting as seen from different car makers, and the bright global marketing outlook for LED adoption by Thorsten Warwel (Ford).
– The Tier 1 lighting suppliers for the lectures by Kamislav Fadel (AL), Jean-Paul Charret (Valeo), Hans-Theo Dorissen (Hella), Rainer Neumann (Visteon), and Michael Hamm (AL) to explain their sight of the future of the different technologies and their expectations from Tier2 suppliers to make innovations become realities. – And all participants but especially the 30 Tier2 lighting suppliers for their openness and the quality of the exchanges which took place during the afternoon DVN Tec Market Place and its 6 sessions.
Professors Khahn and Von Hoffmann, Stephan Berlitz, Paul-Henri Matha, Stephane Leseac’h, Eric Nowak deserve our warmest thanks for chairing their respective round tables, and for having accepted to take the risk of a pioneering experience: putting around the same table car makers, Tier1 suppliers and Tier2 direct competitors to try initiating a fruitful exchange meant to prepare a better future.
To exceed this workshop is a tall challenge, but we are already preparing to do just that at the next DVN workshop!
Sincerely yours,
Hector Fratty,
DVN General Editor
