At Driving Vision News, our aim is to become the reference nexus for automotive lighting and driver assistance technologies and events.
But more importantly, we also have in mind building up a strong lighting and driver assistance community in which, despite the unavoidable strenuous competition between companies, individuals share a common feeling of belonging to the same professional village. An event like the 2011 DVN workshop, which took place last week in Paris is the proof that we are right on target.
Have a look at some of the pictures from the event and see for yourself.
Obviously it was quite a challenge to gather more than 80 people from 50 different companies, ranging from car makers to Tier 1 & 2 suppliers, who flew in from so many countries, Holland, Japan, USA, South Korea, Germany, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey and France, and still were able to share common discussions about their potential contribution to technological innovations.
Many did not know each other and took the opportunity of the welcome cocktail and the numerous coffee breaks to network and exchange business cards. The feedback we received from the workshop attendees is very positive and expectations for the next workshop have, of course, risen accordingly. The results and debriefings of our round table discussions will be published in our May 24, 2011 report titled : “Tier 2 suppliers contribution to Automotive Lighting Innovations”.
We at DVN, target to still enhance our Lighting and Driver Assistance Community and bring it close to a hundred Gold Member companies by the end of 2012. North and South America are not represented at the level they deserve, and neither is India or China. The success of last week DVN Workshop is a clear incentive to push our Team to complete these targets and look positively to the future.
Sincerely yours
