As this week’s news goes live, 190 lighting experts and managers from 73 organisations are gathering for their first day at the Seoul DVN Workshop, which will be followed this evening with a welcome dinner.
We’ve got 26 attendees from nine automakers: Audi, Changan, Cherry, General Motors, Haitec, Hyundai-Kia, Nissan, Renault, and Volkswagen. 48 attendees are representing nine set makers: AL, AMS, Hyundai IHL, Koito, Mobis, SL Corp., Stanley, Varroc, and ZKW. And there are 116 attendees from 48 Tier-2 lighting suppliers, universities, regulatory agencies, and labs. All in all, 16 countries are represented: China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, USA and 10 from Europe. More than 100 attendees are from Korea.
We’ve got off to a great start and clearly this workshop, our first in Korea, will be interesting and productive. The main rubric (the future of automotive lighting) is thoughtfully inclusive and responsive to regional specificities. The lectures to be presented are all of a very high level, and for the first time we’ve got lectures being presented by Korean companies. We’re looking forward to the five round table panel discussions on regulations and challenges in the future of automotive lighting. And we’re keen to peruse the intriguing exhibitions from some of the world’s top set makers and suppliers. So all the conditions are in place to spend fruitful two days.
Attendees have each received a booklet with interviews of Hyundai’s Geum Woo Youn, Audi’s Wolfgang Huhn, AL’s Kamislav Fadel, and SL’s Lee Seong Yeop.
The whole DVN team have done our best to make this Workshop a success, and we greatly thank Hyundai Motors, SL Corporation, Mobis, all the sponsors and B.Y. Chung, our Korean consultant, for their help and their great involvement.
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
