As you likely already know, we are organising a workshop in Shanghai on 23-24 April. That’s less than a month from today.
– 6 automakers will be talking about their latest achievements, their needs and their vision in automotive lighting.
– 10 tier-1 suppliers will present how they master the newest technology.
– 9 tier-2 suppliers will introduce their latest innovations in components and simulation.
In addition to these VIP lectures, we will have two hours of discussion and exchange on regulations. All in all it’s a very intriguing and attractive docket.
Together with those who kindly and diligently supported this project from the beginning, I would like to thank the 10 companies who will sponsor the event and I especially thank those I had to turn down because they volunteered too late.
This workshop will also give new possibilities for supply and demand matchup between tier-2 and tier-1 suppliers. Two exhibition booth areas are still available as this week’s news goes live; contact us straightaway if you’d like to have one.
Indeed, this promises to be the best-attended workshop DVN has ever organised. The target of 200 attendees will likely be exceeded—continuing our unbroken string of sequentially-larger workshops—with a large majority of Chinese participants.
Those already registered include:
• 12 car makers Audi, Daimler, DPCA, FAW-Toyota, Geely, Great Wall, S-GM, Nissan, Qoros, SAIC, S-VW, and Volvo;
• 16 tier-1suppliers: AL, Grote, Harbin, Hella, Ichikoh, Koito, Myotek, Mobis, Olsa, Sealink, SKoito, SL Corp, Valeo, Varroc, Xingyu, and ZKW;
• 22 tier-2s as well as regulators, researchers, universities, and others.
There is a great need in the worldwide lighting community to have more, better, and faster information with so many new technologies competing with one another. In China, new lighting technologies are becoming a strong lever of styling differentiation, safety performance and energy savings. The rubric for the workshop is “Innovations for a Better Light”. We are all now part of a global industry where road infrastructure and vehicle mix variance among the world’s countries aren’t nearly so great as they used to be.
This year, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to network: two lunches and a soirée to allow a large exchange of experience, desires, and ideas among Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and European participants on innovative technologies for automotive lighting. We are all very excited and look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
