It’s that time of year again: we’re pleased to release this week our DVN Report on the 2016 Paris Mondial Motor Show. The main part of the report has small, printer-friendly images—including multiple views of particularly interesting lamps—with description, commentary, and analysis. You can view larger, high-resolution versions of the images at the DVN Website, too. The cars in the report are all covered in general elsewhere, but this DVN Report is the only one focusing closely on the lights.
I was very surprised and disapointed to see almost no promotion about lighting in all the automakers’ booths. And their press releases were very weak that way, too. It is a surprise because it’s the first time in a long time to see such a low level of information about lighting even though the production and concept cars on display boasted many new and innovative headlamps and rear lamps.
For this reason, the DVN Report is particularly important for you. Today’s vehicles bristle with interesting technology. ADAS, electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles…the competition for attention and news space is tougher than ever. So what are we to do? We have to give more information to your communication departments and to try to convince them about the interest of the technology. A month ago I had a long talk with a group of automotive generalists. Most of them told me they’re interest in lighting and willing to make papers on it if they have the material for it.
I hope you will enjoy perusing the report as much as we have enjoyed producing it.
Sincerely yours
DVN President
