Every week, the Driving Vision News reaches more than 800 readers worldwide, all involved in lighting as professionals. Over 2,000 others receive our editorial and in-depth articles with only the news headings. We hear that most of you read the newsletters every week—Christian Amann, for example, reads the news every week and personally shares it with his colleagues. We regularly receive good, useful feedback when we publish a new report.
Still, though, I think it is not enough—not considering the volume of information each of our publications contains.
Now, we realise most DVN readers are very busy. That’s one reason why we strive to maximise the “efficiency” of our publications by clearly presenting the most relevant information. Nevertheless, for continued vitality and progress in the vehicle lighting and vision world, we respectfully ask that you please contribute a small homework assignment: Once you’ve read the week’s news, please take a few moments to share your thoughts with us about the articles of greatest relevance or interest to you. Or you might reach out to whoever is mentioned or featured in the article that catches your eye.
Really, DVN is more than just a series of publications; it’s the vehicle lighting and driver/vehicle vision world’s hub where we all can share thoughts about regulations, long-term technological development, evolution of lighting with the arrival of autonomous cars, and many more topics. Together we have made great progress to further the world’s interest in vehicle lighting. That means brighter fortunes—increased revenues—for everyone involved, and a benefit to everyone who goes near traffic by dint of beautiful cars with better safety.
Still there’s room, without scuttling our field’s healthy competition, for more cooperation to keep up this happy trend. Won’t you please chip in and take up the habit of sending one or two or three emails each week to your colleagues in response to the news we bring you? Tell ’em you saw it in DVN!
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
