Last week, I announced the next DVN Workshop focused on the future of automotive lighting and our vision up to the years 2020-2025. In just a week’s time we’ve already had strong interest and participation is ramping up quickly for the event, to be held in Paris next 25 February. I am happy to confirm presentations by six heads of major car makers’ lighting departments, as well as five R&D managers from the leading lighting tier-1 suppliers. Leading light source suppliers, research institutes, and regulators are also expected to join in. All the speakers and attendees will have the opportunity to develop their vision on the subject, and to talk and listen with their colleagues about the technologies of the future. Watch for more information this Thursday in a special letter about the event, including a draft docket.
The target of the workshop is to afford a complete vision of the burgeoning technologies for managers in all sectors, so they can be able to make wise decisions tailored for their company and their markets, and best prioritise investments in engineering and production, people and material.
New at this workshop: a DVN awards ceremony will follow the dinner on the evening before the workshop. Awards will be given for the three best lectures of the last VISION and ISAL congresses, to the best lecture at the 2013 DVN workshops in America and China, and we’ll cap it all off with the 2013 DVN Person of the Year Award. The best-lecture awards are adjudged on the basis of content, innovative aspects, and quality of presentation. The respective Steering Committee members of the VISION and ISAL congresses and the DVN team contributed to the selection, and the Person of the Year was selected by DVN team on the basis of achievements, lectures being one of the most visible, but also on passion, personal drive and involvement in helping our industry to recon the increasing importance of light styling.
