Our great big DVN Study, The Impact of a Changing Automotive Industry on Exterior Lighting, has been available for two months now, and we’ve had more orders for it from automakers and lighting suppliers than expected. I am very proud to see that most of the world’s setmakers have ordered it and commented favourably about it; clearly the value is there. That, in turn, is a nice achievment and bodes well for future DVN endeavours of this kind.
So, yes. My heartfelt thanks to those who have already bought the Study—and to those who have yet to decide to go ahead. In building the Study, we interviewed almost all global car makers, lighting suppliers and research institutes involved in lighting, and visited most lighting suppliers. We did this work to help the vehicle lighting community look positively toward the future and allow each of you to balance your risks on a well-informed basis when deciding on investments and new technologies.
It is wise for all of you to have the study in front of you, to be able to share and discuss its conclusions as well as DVN’s best-bet advice with your management and your colleagues. It’s also a good reference for the use of a common technical language for your teams and new recruits.
