When the DVN Report on the NAIAS Detroit auto show goes live next week, it will stand as our one hundredth report. Since 2008, DVN has been publishing reports on all kinds of important events concerning vehicle lighting and driver vision. The topics run the gamut: auto shows, technical congresses and DVN Workshops, investigative looks at the states of art in a wide range of lighting technologies, company profiles, regulatory analyses, scrutiny of lighting in various countries, reports on ADAS—really on every topic relevant to DVN members and readers.
This year, in addition to Detroit, Geneva, and Paris auto shows, our DVN Workshops in India and Japan, and the VISION Congress, reports we expect to publish include:
• a company profile of Varroc Lighting,
• DVN’s vision of vehicle lighting in 2025-2030,
• the evolution of the automotive regulation field worldwide,
• Automotive lighting in US
• a new report on simulation tools in automotive lighting, and
• an update on interior lighting.
More and more lighting experts are working for DVN, doing their best to inform you and to help the lighting community as a whole. It is enormous work which clearly the entire DVN community appreciate, judging by our 100% annual renewal rate. Moreover, we are investing in new expert manpower and efforts to cover ADAS and its converging trends with lighting. Watch for more detail soon about the increasing scope of our activities and what we strive to achieve in the coming year.
We have managed for most of a decade now to hold the line on our annual subscription rates, but sooner or later we were bound to reach its limit, and that time has come. Effective 1 March, the Gold annual subscription list price will be €5900 and the Platinum list price will be €11,800. These rates will allow DVN to invest by preparing the future and keeping the highest level of technical information services. It is our goal to maintain these rates until our 200th report!
For your advanced information, our Tokyo workshop will be held on the 18th and 19th of this coming May at one of the most prestigious hotels in Tokyo, the Ritz-Carlton. The rubric is to be Green Cutting Edge Lighting Technologies. We expect the active participation of the world’s best experts from Japan, Europe, the Americas, Korea, and China.
And we are already laying the groundwork for an interesting new direction in the 2017 USA Workshop…stay tuned!
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
