After the success of our two first DVN Workshops, Stuttgart in 2009 and Paris in 2010, DVN has decided to challenge Tier 2 suppliers about their capacity to contribute developing automotive lighting innovations, well in line with the OEM needs and development roadmaps. Our 3 rd DVN Workshop, named “ 2011 DVN Tec Market place ” will represent an opportunity for leading car makers and Tier 1 global lighting suppliers to challenge Tier 2 suppliers and identify innovation tasks for the lighting tiers to develop. It will bring together in Paris on 5 May 2011 around ten leading car makers, a dozen tier-1 global lighting suppliers, and more than 30 tier-2 companies, all active DVN Gold Members.
The Paris 2011 DVN Worksop will start in the morning with guidelines from OEM and Tier 1 in order for Tier 2 to better understand:
• Emerging subsystems that will more likely rely on lighting Tier 2 developments.
• Outlook for Market adoption of each subsystem.
• Evolution of key processes and test & simulation tools.
These morning lectures will be followed by 6 afternoon round table sessions to allow Tier 2 to present to car makers and Tier 1 the evolution of their offers and skills, as well as the limits concerning their potential contribution to lighting innovations. The round table discussions will focus on the following core businesses:
• Light sources: bulbs, Xenon, LEDs
• Electronics of exterior and interior lighting
• Sensors and actuators
• Materials & Processes: plastics, coatings, assembling
• Software & simulation, optics, temperature
• Components and Test equipment
Tier-2 suppliers will take this opportunity to hear how the leading players analyse the latest trends, developments and programs in the automotive lighting industry. Car makers and tier-1 suppliers will be inspired by tier-2 strategic and practical ideas and discover new tier-2 proprietary and entrepreneurial skills.
