ISAL 2009 was a smashing success. What a pleasure to get together for two days with 400 lighting experts, new and senior experts discussing lighting technologies, lighting physiology, lighting measurement, lighting trends, and everything else about automotive lighting!
Whether in the lecture hall or queued up for lunch, or perhaps over dinner with a glass of beer or wine — next time, let’s have saké available! — what a delight to discover new technologies, to participate in a panel discussion on innovation in the crisis, to meet so many people from all round the world, all focused on lighting.
I am sure that this pleasure was shared by most every participant. The automotive lighting community is a great one with a long history, a big dynamism and strong creativity added to a pleasant relationship. I am been working for more than 40 years in the automotive lighting industry and never have I had in front of me:
– Such a diversity of new technologies as Xenon 35W and 25W, LED, High beam assistant, adaptive lighting, adaptive driving beam, matrix beam etc…all implemented with care to reduce energy consumption. Just a few years ago, no company was paying attention to power consumption!
– So many new concepts from driver assistance domain offering a lot of new possibilities for integration of lighting and driver assistance into driver vision systems.
– So many studies on physiology, glare, and perceived brightness with very interesting and surprising results.
Thank you to Pr Khanh and his team for the perfect organization.
The great lighting community allowed these great innovations to come to the fore. Let us continue to work together for the collective benefit of our business. See you at VISION in October 2010!
Sincerely yours
