My first appearance with DVN was at last year’s DVN Interior Event in Köln, when Philippe Aumont was still alive; he was one of the main reasons I joined DVN. Even though we didn’t get much time together, I truly miss him.
This year, Geoffrey Lebrun and the DVN Interior team – led by Laurent Sérézat – put the event on in Köln again, as a homage to Philippe. Yet it wasn’t a rehash of last year’s event; it was in a different location and more modern context.
We were in the outskirts of Köln, at BASE Köln Mühlheim, in the old Carlswerk factories that used to produce cables (if I’m not mistaken). New tech and startup vibe in old factory buildings: very cool place!
We had a 2-day program packed with great stuff from all kinds of speakers sharing insights and perspectives on automotive interiors. There was a grand array of exhibitors, all in a setting that allowed for a lot of mingling and spontaneous chats with everyone; that’s one of the consistently outstanding features of DVN events. Attendees got to meet industry peers in a professional, inspiring, and friendly context. Philippe was a master in all these areas, and always with a sparkling sense of humor.
