Last week I was in Israel to attend an interesting multi-day event dedicated to innovation in smart mobility, to talk about the three revolutions in mobility (electrification, autonomous driving, and digital mobility services). The EcoMotion event, brings together 4,000 participants, young and experienced entrepreneurs, market leaders, international and local industry companies, technology-orientated people, policymakers, academic researchers, and investors. The four takeaways of the event for the ADAS and lighting community:
- Many high-level startups are innovating in our fields
- Many worldwide automakers are involved, including GM, Ford, VW, Renault-Nissan, Honda, and more—plus their suppliers.
- There was an interesting talk on deepening multinational startup relations with VW, Daimler, Lear, and Valeo participation.
- VIP speakers like William Ford (Executive Chairman of Ford Motor) and Takao Asami (R&D VP of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance) made highly fascinating lectures. In the next newsletter you’ll find much more information on Ecomotion event, including more about these four takeaways, a presentation of especially notable startup exhibits, and a DVN exclusive interview with EcoMotion Executive Director Orlie Dahan.
Last week, at the 127th session of the GTB General Assembly agreed on the revision of the GTB Statute, changing the role of the President and establishing the new permanent career role of Secretary General with an enlarged secretariat. Keep reading to get the details of these very important decisions.
Sincerely yours
DVN President
