All 180 attendees at the Dorint Hotel in Frankfurt for the DVN Lidar Conference today have my sincere gratitude. It’s my great pleasure and high honour to welcome over 80 companies, including 12 car makers, and I thank the exhibitors whose innovative products make such a fine and intriguing set of presentations, and of course the 20 speakers for their central involvement.
This lidar conference is meant to increase and expand reciprocal knowledge of lidar and lighting technologies and techniques, and to bring the lidar and lighting worlds together to get to know one another. All of this goes toward these two communities working together as driver and machine vision systems increasingly converge.
The workshop has three parts: a keynote address by Continental’s Heiko Leppin; 20 lectures from lidar makers, automakers, lighting makers, and other companies, then there are two panel discussions chaired by Ralf Schäfer and Stephan Berlitz, with the main experts of lidar and lighting.
If you’re at the Conference, get the DVN Workshop app for your smartphone; it has the docket and speaker information, as well as this week’s newsletter. And you can use the app to find your way to the sessions and exhibits that interest you, to rate the lectures, and to easily ask questions to the speakers in real time.
On other matters: DVN Workshop seats always fill up fast, and the upcoming US Workshop is no exception. You’ll want to register if you haven’t already done so. See you there!
Sincerely yours
DVN President
