In 2016 Uber changed their autonomous-car fleet from Ford Fusion cars to Volvo SUVs. That brought a reduction in the number of sensors to detect objects in the road: the Fusions used seven lidars, seven radars, and 20 cameras, while the newer Volvos have a single lidar, 10 radars, and seven cameras.
