By now you’re probably accustomed to our DVN monthly focus on a company involved in lighting. We present a detailed descriptive analysis of a lighting system recently launched, then a week later we feature an interview with the involved managers. This is to help get you acquainted with the system, its maker, their strategy and vision, and the personality of the management. We strive to respect your limited and precious time by breaking our reportage into two manageable-size chunks.
This week we have a very interesting interview with Uwe Kostanzer, who talks with us about the Mercedes E-Class lighting system we analysed last week. Kostanzer is a private person who doesn’t generally tend to give interviews, and so we’re very thankful he graciously agreed to share his clear vision of the future of the business and knowledge of drivers’ needs. In his interview you will find keen insight on the challenges to improve ADB resolution, to succeed in the shift from hardware to software, and to create new functionalities in order to offer more safety.
Next month we will shift our focus to Renault’s lighting achievements and strategy based on innovations and styling differentiation; then in sequence we’ll be highlighting BMW, ZKW, and smaller companies like Elba.
Don’t forget to plan now for two important events in October in Paris: the Mondial auto show and the VISION Congress, to be held for the first time at the famous Cité des Sciences with night drives at Mortefontaine.
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
