VISION 2016 will be held this coming October 13th and 14th at the Cité des Sciences in Paris, a place totally dedicated to technologies. The new venue should set a copacetic tone for the automotive lighting community, especially young engineers and the universities.
The VISION Congress organised by SIA—the French Society of Automotive Engineers—was inaugurated 14 years ago. It’s held biennially, in even-numbered years (switching off with ISAL which is held in odd-numbered years). 2014’s attendance broke records with a count of 420, up 20% from 2012.
VISION is a conference with a unique platform for top-level scientists and engineers from universities, research centres and industries, represented by directors, managers, department leaders and experts. There are all sorts of opportunities for networking with exchanges within and among all sectors of the lighting and driver assistance industry, and a major exhibition displaying a wide range of relevant products and services. And—exclusive to VISION—are exciting ride-and-drive tests on a private circuit to show recent innovations in lighting and driver assistance in action. In 2014 there were more than 25 demonstrator cars.
2016’s event will see the progress of innovations in vehicle-based road illumination and signal lighting, sensors and detectors for ADAS, and simulators for design and validation. The event will bring together around 500 participants and attendees in the lighting and ADAS fields to address key topics for vision and road safety.
