Last week I was in Japan making preparations for the Tokyo DVN Workshop to be held on 18th–19th May. While I was there, I visited Honda, Ichikoh, Stanley, and Koito. This week we’ve got a very interesting interview with Ichikoh CEO Ali Ordoobadi. And before long, we’ll publish my thoughts on these meetings, with more VIP interviews and product analyses; from this you will come to better know these Japanese companies and their products.
Now, a few days after these visits, I remain grateful for the warm welcomes I received from all the companies I visited. It is quite pleasant to talk with so many people passionate about driver vision, and see so many presentations.
I took great pleasure in listening to Ichikoh presenting their Toyota Prius rear lamp, Stanley presenting their intriguing new low beam/ADB projector system, Koito showing me their latest innovations with laser and OLED technologies, and Honda describing their strategy about lighting. It was a special privilege to lead interviews with these firms’ VIPs who graciously illustrated their strategies, their needs, and what makes their respective companies and products unique.
After such fine meetings, I am confident the DVN Tokyo Workshop will be a great success. As the continuing strong interest and great attendance shows, DVN Workshops foster communication about best practices, new innovations, and roadmaps to the future in a collegial, friendly environment. Count on DVN to hold up our end of the bargain; we’re putting together a fantastic Workshop so your attendance will be a wise, productive use of your time. See you there!
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
