These pages are frequently filled with descriptions from every angle of the unprecedented—and accelerating—rate of evolution in the technology and technique of vehicular lighting. We also cover the world’s regulatory situations and developments. But behind the scenes, between those two aspects of our field, who coordinates the crucial, urgent work of smoothly paving the way for those new technologies and techniques to be accepted by the world’s regulators?
It’s GTB, our field’s international consortium of experts working tirelessly to respond to the increasing demand to reconcile new technology and old regulations (and vice versa). This week, we bring you an in-depth report from GTB President and veteran vehicle lighting impresario Geoff Draper. Included are links to documents showing current and proposed progress on today’s and tomorrow’s substantive issues in vehicle lighting technology and regulation.
Draper will present a lecture on the subject at the Seoul DVN Workshop next month, and there’ll be a panel discussion with the participation of eminent worlsdwide experts.
DVN Seoul worshop
And speaking of Seoul, the Workshop docket is now final, and it’s packed with high-level lectures by lighting experts and directors from around the world. We’re putting strong focus on the round tables focused on the future of automotive lighting technologies. And that’s not even to mention the display booths and networking opportunities. In deference to the hotel’s security preferences, we’ve capped attendance at 180. See you there!
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
