Day after day, we are confirming that the automotive lighting community is working better and more cohesively than ever before. Two weeks ago, a fine group of us raised glassed of champagne in toast to Mathieu Lips and his successor Jean-Philippe Benoist good success in their new challenges. Just a few days later, about 15 of us were working on the VISION Steering and Scientific Committees.
This week I am in Korea meeting with Korean lighting players and next week, I will be in China doing the same. These kinds of events, while they might not individually be large or fancy, are of great benefit to the lighting community as a whole. They’re part of the building infrastructure and network that allows great communication and cooperation for the benefit of us all in boosting the progress of lighting technologies.
DVN Seoul workshop
There’s a lot of preparation under way for the forthcoming DVN Seoul workshop—an opportunity to talk and listen with Korean companies. The lectures under preparation are already shaping up to be quite wonderful. Korean companies are ready to share information and will be very deeply involved in the workshop from the top. Not just Hyundai Motors, who are sponsoring the workshop, but also set makers including Mobis and SL as well as light source suppliers like Osram, Philips, LG Innotek.
There are sponsorship opportunities remaining, and there’s no requirement that sponsors be Korean, so if you’re interested, get in touch right away; the list will be closed very soon.
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
