We’re pleased to announce our reportage of the 2014 Geneva auto show. The 84 th Geneva Motor Show was distinctly different from past iterations. The atmosphere was optimistic this year with a welcome return of some really daring supercars and concept cars. The message is unmistakable: fun is ahead and the automotive crisis in Europe is now behind us.
The main trend unveiled in several concept cars is the fully red for rear or fully white for front homogeneous light blocks, using new and specific material.
Find particular points of note with comment and illustration in this week’s news.

71 st GRE session
The 71 st GRE session was a very important week with action to develop a new approach to lighting regulation and to refuse to process any proposals for collective amendments until the common parts of the individual regulations are moved into a new Horizontal Reference Document. This is what Geoff Draper predicted in his vision statement to the DVN Paris Workshop.
GTB also delivered its conclusions, on how to determine when automatic headlamp levelling is to be mandated, following the glare and visibility study. There was no decision but GTB, OICA and Poland will now work to develop a proposal to amend R48 to be formally presented to GRE in October 2014 .
See next, more information on the GRE session.
Sincerely yours
