As reported in the 5 April 2011 edition of DVN, GRE decided to introduce requirements, expected to enter into force at the end of 2019, to mandate automatic levelling for all M and N vehicle categories . Additionally, GRE accepted the GTB proposal to re-examine the requirements at any time during this period subject to the outcome of a comprehensive study related to the whole issue of glare and visibility during night-time driving. This study, led by GTB, will be carried out in close cooperation with GRE experts.
Last week, GTB held its 111 th week-long session in Budapest with one of the biggest participations in recent years. 60 experts from its 17 national delegations took part with the outcome that more than 20 proposals for amendments to the UNECE Regulations will be submitted to the next GRE session in October.
