Nissan will recall and repair close to half a million vehicles because of faulty wiring and brake lamps, though no accidents have yet been blamed on the faults.
The recall of 435,400 vehicles in various global markets covers the Serena minivan and Tiida (Versa) compact car, and also affects Suzuki’s Landy minivans, supplied by Nissan.
Most of the vehicles were sold in Japan but some were sold in Hong Kong, Dubai and Australia. The Serena engines can cut out and fail to restart due to the wiring problems, while a wiring issue in the Tiida/Versa can cause the brake lamps not to work.
