Lippstadt, December 11, 2007. Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. intends to sell Holger Christiansen A/S, a remanufacturer of starters and alternators, as well as a dealer in automotive electrics spare parts, to the Bosch Group. Holger Christiansen A/S, located in Esbjerg, Denmark, generated sales of 112 million euros in Fiscal Year 2006-2007 and employs around 900 people at four production and seven sales locations. It has been agreed mutually that the purchase price will not be disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
The remanufacturing business is not part of the core business activities of Hella KGaA Hueck & Co.. Taken over in the mid-nineties by Hella, Holger Christiansen A/S serves the independent aftermarket with its brands “HC-Parts” and “Cargo”. Since then, the business has grown significantly and will now be additionally strengthened strategically by the synergies with the Bosch OE-business. Through a long-term supply agreement, Hella continues to secure its strong position with starters and alternators in the independent aftermarket.
