The Society of Automotive Engineers’ International Congress was held in Detroit on April 14 to April 17. There were three lighting-related presentation sessions and one driver assistance session.
A comprehensive report will be available on www.DrivingVisionNews.com from April 29.
Around 130 people attended the lighting sessions; the sparser attendance at the driver assistance session suggested interest in the subject is still yet to take firm hold in North America.
Japanese automakers and suppliers were particularly well represented in the session attendees.
Among the interesting presentations were LED-related papers from A.L., Audi, Hella, Koito, and Valeo, Glare-free headlamp concept from Visteon, New developments in flexible large-area OLEDs from G.E., All-around image view from Nissan, and a paper on the simulation of headlamps’ stray light from A.L.
