Monterey Car Week ’25 was quite amazing for people who like vintage, specialty, and sports cars—emblematic of the deep and broad car-loving culture in the USA.
Every August, the Monterey Peninsula transforms into the automotive world’s grand stage. Car Week featured auctions, heritage anniversaries, private showcases, and bold debuts. Started in 1950 with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Monterey Car Week has become a theatre of heritage, auctions, racing, and launches.
In this week’s DVNewsletter, we look at some of the really nice lamp features and details. Some of them will surely be contenders for our next DVN award for the best front, rear, and concept-car lamps!
Stellantis chose the event to unveil their newest Jeep Cherokee, and Tensor showed their intriguing robotaxi with special lighting content.
All in all, the American automotive market seems to be hot and getting hotter. A perfect backdrop for the DVN Detroit event next month! We’re expecting around 500 participants, and today we’re pleased to bring you the final agenda.
The event gets started with a glare forum session on 8 September with expert presentations and a panel discussion to discuss traffic glare through a variety of lenses. That’s the day before the UNECE GRE glare task force meeting in Brussels on 9 September. It will surely be interesting to hear the variety of views and get a good look at the different philosophies and priorities in Europe and the rest of the world versus the USA. This glare session will be followed by a barbecue party and nighttime demo-drive session for DVN members.
To prepare for this event, we’ve been visiting a lot of DVN members, and you’ll find reports on those field trips in this week’s newsletter as well.
Sincerely yours,
