This is Claude Cham. After his graduate studies, he started his career at Chrysler of France, then moved up to Chrysler Europe where he held various positions.
In 1984 he was recruited by the Sumitomo group in the context of the recovery of Dunlop activities and in 1987 he was appointed CEO of Dunlop France in charge of all activities for Southern Europe, Africa,
He held that position until 2000 when, as part of the Goodyear-Sumitomo JV, he was appointed Vice Chairman of Goodyear-Dunlop Europe, a position he held until 2007.
In 2009 he was elected President of FIEV— Fédération des Industries des Equipements pour Véhicules, that is the Federation of Vehicle Equipment Industries—and he has just been reelected for the third time.
Cham kindly agreed to this exclusive DVN interview:
DVN: You’ve just been nominated again to continue heading FIEV. Can you tell us about the organisation and its mission?
Claude Cham: It is a professional union created in 1910 whose main purpose is the representation and defence of the interests of automotive equipment companies located in France.
