At the beginning of this month, Philippe Jallette replaced Jean-Paul Ravier as ELS chair. Jaillette is a graduate of ESCE, a famous international business school. He completed his education with an ISM Executive MBA in international business management. He spent more than 30 years in automotive tier-1 suppliers in roles including Global Key Accounts Manager and Managing Director. His latest assignment was with Hella, well-known for their lighting and ADAS activities, so naturally he was excited when ELS tapped him to be the next chair. Jaillette kindly granted DVN an exclusive interview:
DVN: So here you are as the new ELS chair. Congratulations! Can you define the aim of an ELS education?
P.J.: I’m very proud to have the chance to sustain the fantastic job that was done during the last 3 years! The clear target of ELS program is to prepare young engineers ready to be hired and become project managers in the area of vehicle lighting globally. Please take a few moments to view this video presenting an overview of the ELS programme.
DVN : Could you summarise the advanced master program and the different units?
P.J.: In fact, this program not only provides photonic and embedded electronics background to our students, but it makes them familiar with the language of designers, that is crucial in the automotive Industry these days.
