I visited Hella last month to better know their LCD technology and the progress being made these last years. This visit also helped me to enrich the study DVN launched last week. I thank the Hella team for having given me the chance to be the first guest to get this information and to have the opportunity of a night drive with this technology.
Hella organised an event on 26 June in their hometown of Lippstadt. The event, to be called “The Art of Light: New Paths in Automobile Lighting Technology”, focuses on liquid-crystal technology. In this week’s news, we provide technical information about LCD technology in context of others.
What I retain from my visit and night drive is the huge possibilities to improve. The concept is very interesting. if Hella achieve the targets of 1,000 Lm on the road with 87.5 kcd intensity, the LCD light could be at the level of the best lights with a good resolution and a perfect homogeneity, static and dynamic. I hadn’t imagined that we were so close to these targets with this technology!
