The DVN welcome cocktail and dinner took place yesterday evening at the Royal Park Hotel located in Rochester, Michigan—about 40 minutes’ drive North of Detroit.
Automakers, suppliers, researchers, regulators, and practitioners mingled and schmoozed in an exceptional opportunity to exchange views, catch up, and network.
This morning, the all-day workshop got started with more than 220 attendees involved in lighting and driver assistance. The docket contains an intriguing mix of updates on long-running work and novel presentations.
Dr. Srinivasa Narasimhan, Associate Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, opened the workshop with his keynote, “Programmable Headlights: One Billion Light Beam Adaptations Per Second”. We’ve got panel discussions and round tables to look forward to, as well, and a great collection of expo booths.
Already the attendees and participants are taking good advantage of this day—a fine one to be indoors; it’s below freezing out! If you were unable to join in, catch up next month when we release a report on the Workshop, presenting the main points of the lectures with numerous pictures showing technologies, exhibitions, and participants.
Sincerely yours,
DVN Editor in Chief
