DVN: Could you present your new company, the organisation, the strengths, and the customers?
Detlef Decker: With more than 11,000 employees at 46 locations Bertrandt is one of Europe’s leading engineering specialists. The decentralised structure with subsidiaries close to our customers covers the entire value chain of product design and development. Bertrandt is supporting all big European OEMs and tier-1 and -2 suppliers.
DVN: How do you think Bertrandt can help the lighting players?
DD: We are supporting the complete development process in automobile lighting with our experts. Our competences are mechanical, thermal and optical system design, simulation, visualisation and testing. Our lighting teams work at locations close to our customers in Germany and France.
DVN: New lighting technologies bring change in the value chain. Can Bertrandt be positively involved in this trend?
DD : Definitely yes, the increasing complexity of the new lighting technologies requires the pooling and merging of all capabilities. A company like Bertrandt focused exclusively on the engineering process can cover this jointly with resources, flexibility and competences. The significantly growing of our lighting teams in size and competence within the recent years confirms this trend.
