As you know, the next DVN workshop will be held in Paris this coming 25 th February, with a dinner soirée the night before. My target with this workshop is simple: Help all of us to build a vision on the future of lighting while spending some nice and pleasant time together in a singularly enjoyable and comfortable environment.
I’ve lately held several conferences to tier-1 and -2 companies about past, current, and future lighting technologies. While preparing these conferences, I realised how much automotive technology has progressed in these last 25 years since complex shape reflectors first moved us beyond parabolics…then clear lenses, HID, AFS, LED, and now ADB and matrix beam before the arrival of laser beam and OLED, with an accelerating tempo these 10 last years. The night drive I made last week in the Mercedes-Benz CLS facelift 2014 confirms that every month there is something new in automotive lighting. It’s an exciting time to be in this field!
On that basis I make this promise: the DVN Paris workshop will be forever in the minds of participants. Success depends not only on the effort of the DVN team but also on the speakers’ commitments. All the speakers I asked to make a lecture have accepted to contribute to this workshop—only one OEM hasn’t yet decided.
So we will have five OEMs, six tier-1 and six tier-two, as well as research institutes and regulators, sharing their vision on lighting about LED, matrix, laser, OLED but also on styling strategies, regulations, simulation, and others topics shaping the future.
Last point: Don’t miss the laser report we are releasing next week. The team has been working very hard and we are convinced you will discover a lot of information about laser technology in this exceptional technical report.
Sincerely yours
DVN Editor in Chief
