The deadline to submit abstracts is coming up soon: 6 March, in just one week.
Never before has there been such a range of lighting and driver assistance technology and technique in such rapid development. LEDs, of course, are still the biggest headline news in lighting, but we’re seeing interesting paper submissions about OLEDs and also still in HID with new adaptive system integration and pedestrian detection functions. In ADAS, we are receiving abstracts on enhanced visualisation of the infrastructure, electronic copilots with situational awareness, onboard and coöperative systems, human-machine interface, and more.
All in all, we expect to receive around 100 abstracts which on 20 March will be proposed to the scientific committee comprising experts from car makers, lighting suppliers, and universities. 30 papers will be selected and their authors will be informed at the end of March.
Don’t forget that 25 cars, most of them demonstrators, will be presented this year at VISION—surely the event of the year for lighting and ADAS experts. I personally ask all worldwide experts on lighting and ADAS to present an abstract this week. After March 6, it will be too late. Never before has the lighting and ADAS technologies have been going so fast and it is a fantastic opportunity for all of you to emphasise the quality of your works during this 2012 VISION congress.
Sincerely yours
