The VISION congress has been going and growing from strength to strength since 2002. Now, ten years on, SIA—the French Society of Automotive Engineers—will host VISION 2012 on 9-10 October at the Palais des Congrès in the royal city of Versailles. Today the Call for Papers is launched. Experts have until 6 March—six weeks—to submit abstracts on lighting and ADAS innovations. A scientific committee gathering the main experts will select the 30 best abstracts.
The event will bring together 300 major players in lighting and ADAS to address key topics for vision and roadway safety. An exhibition and night drives—long a hallmark of the VISION congress—will show and demonstrate the most recent innovations in lighting, telecommunication and detection systems. This year’s VISION will be exceptional, truly the event of the year for lighting and ADAS experts. Never before have so many new technologies been developed. The location this year is very special, in front of the Chateau de Versailles, to welcome the expected 300+ attendees for the exhibitions. And more than 25 cars are expected, most of them demonstrators plus some new cars unveiled at the Paris Motor Show being held at the same time.
The Call for Papers on lighting has special focus on the status and development of light sources including 25w and 35w Xenon, LEDs and OLEDs, novel lighting and signal systems, simulation and testing. ADAS papers are expected to include ehanced infrastructure visualisation, electronic copilot systems with situational awareness, and coöperative systems, as well as human-machine interface factors.
I personally ask all worldwide experts on lighting and ADAS to please present an abstract. Lighting and ADAS technology is evolving at an unprecedented fast pace, and this is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to show off your best work. We’ll see you there!
