What a surprise I got a few months ago when I was told Odelo have been acquired by a Turkish company, Farba, who belong to Bayraktarlar Holding. I remember when Odelo were called Schefenacker; there was much discussion inside Valeo about the purchase of the company. I remember I was sad after being told to stop discussions with Schefenacker (later Odelo) because I found very attractive the high-tech rear lamps and also G.L.I. Global Light Industries, which produce LEDs.
Very recently, I was at Kamp-Lintfort visiting Odelo’s development and production of customized LEDs. I was impressed by the high-tech facilities and above all the management and the level of experts developing and producing particularly for Premium car makers.
In the interview presented herein, Farba VP Aymet Bayraktarlar explains his vision for the future of the company and why he made this acquisition. His goals are to become a competitive global high-tech and customer-friendly systems supplier. His management is based on good relationship with partners and customers, on following the latest trends in automotive lighting and making the right investment decisions at the right times, hard work and determination, and deep involvement of employees.
I met Aymet Bayraktarlar when I visited Farba a few months ago and was impressed by his long term sights and the way they handle their customers. I am convinced they will find how to succeed together with Odelo because the targets are clear and the relationship is balanced: Farba bring the global ambition and experience with according financial support; Odelo bring the cutting edge technology and the introduction to premium customers. Let’s salute a potential new world class lighting player!
Sincerely yours
