This week’s DrivingVisionNews includes a paper written by Professor Khanh about the benefits of LED technology for general lighting, not only for automotive lighting.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Professor Khanh, head of the laboratory for Lighting Technology at TU Darmstadt since 2005 for his great job at the head of this unique and renowned laboratory.
Professor Schmidt-Clausen had done a good job for several decades. With the help of car makers and lighting suppliers Khanh succeeded bringing the Laboratory back to life.
Quietly and efficiently, year upon year, Professor Khanh built up a new laboratory at TUD, securing financial support from industry and new students to technically reinforce it. The result? By his cleverness and involvement, Professor Khanh now has an able team of students to robustly help our lighting community and what he is starting to do with non-automotive companies can also help us.
Of course, this coming ISAL will be another success story for Professor Khanh; it will probably attract the attendance of more than 600 experts at Darmstadt in September and will be an opportunity for our lighting community to share lighting knowledge and to improve internal relationship.
Congratulations Professor! You’re exactly the kind of expert we need in the lighting community.
