In last week’s editorial, I announced Berend Wegner will leave lighting at VW and asked colleagues to write a few words about relationship with him.
Several lighting players answered and you can see their comments below:
Michael Hamm, Automotive Lighting
“He likes to work without big noise, that made the joint work not immediately easy but every time acceptable.
His humor following his north German origin is quite deep, always short and precise. I like his clear and straight forward thinking that helped a lot in the VW lighting issues.
I wish him all the best for his new job.”
Rainer Neumann
“I know Berend Wegner from his beginning, when he joined Lighting in VW.
At that time he did not know that much about lighting !
He was interested in to learn and he learned.
He is a very sympathic person, quiet, direct in his response and very much linked to the topic when we discussed about Lighting.
He is convincing not because of his manager position in VW, but due to his personality and the way he argues.
That’s not everywhere visible.
He also can be very relaxed and have a lot of fun after work (remember the Shanghai time, when we met there).
I do wish him all the best personally and also in his new position the same success as with Lighting.”
Rafael Trocoli, Valeo Spain
“My first memories from Berend Wegner come from the days when we launched the Touareg AFS.
