Around 50 people have been working all last week in Working Groups and in the Plenary session.
Wednesday all the participants were present at the famous restaurant “Le Café du Commerce” for the customary GTB dinner, hosted by FIEV on this occasion, which provided an excellent opportunity for some informal networking.
It was a nice opportunity for me to meet people I met 10, 20 or 30 years ago.
Claude Cham, the new FIEV president was present with Geoffrey Draper, GTB chairman, Bart Terburg, vice-president and Davide Puglisi executive secretary.
GTB, born in 1952, has been recognized as the global group of all lighting players, car makers, suppliers Tier 1&2, testing lab and institutes to assure regulation and safety.
GTB membership includes 18 delegations from concerned countries, including Europe, USA, Japan and South Africa.
GTB is comprised of working groups specializing in front lighting, signal lighting and retro–reflectors, LED front lighting and light sources. These are complemented by a scientific group working on safety and visual performance and a photometry group dealing with testing and type approval issues. As appropriate, taskforces are established to deeply study specific issues.
Ensure that GTB remains “in-Tune” with new lighting and vehicle technologies to be a major contributor in the regulation process is Geoffrey’s target.
GTB has done a fantastic job. Automotive lighting made so big technical progresses in rear and front lighting with the help of GTB works, the 18 delegations, the 98 experts and the chair organization.
During next weeks, Driving Vision News will enter into some detail about informations, decisions, and comments concerning the 107th GTB Plenary session.
The Lighting community thanks the 4 former president chairmen and wishes a big success to Geoffrey Draper who chaired the 107th GTB Plenary session for the first time.
