In this crisis period, wherein a careful and thoughtful selection of lighting innovations is mandatory, Driving Vision News organised and ran last Tuesday a workshop in order to strengthen community links amongst lighting players and use differing position to challenge ideas and vision through several topics.
In a hotel at Stuttgart, 18 lighting experts belonging at 16 different companies, car makers Audi, BMW, Opel and Ford, suppliers Tier 1 Hella, Automotive Lighting, Valeo, Visteon and Odelo, suppliers Tier 2 Philips, Osram, DocterOptics, Sonceboz and Brandenburg and Darmstadt university were working several hours to share their experience.
There was a large agreement between all the participants in many topics but also deep differences among participants in few topics — targets of premium car makers, generalist car makers, tier 1 lighting suppliers and tier 2 suppliers are not always the same.
Driving Vision News looks forward to facilitating many more of these brain-intensive, low-key gatherings for the free exchange of ideas and philosophy to drive our industry onward and upward.
After the meeting, all the participants visited the fantastic Porsche museum, opened a few weeks ago.
It was a very good lesson for all the experts to better know the life of Ferdinand Porsche and the technologies he discovered.
