Renault build various configurations of the vehicle in Brazil, India, Morocco, Romania and Russia. New or expanded capacity is planned in the next two years in Colombia, Morocco, South Africa and Russia. Renault attribute the car’s success to the simple principle of providing customers everything they need in a vehicle without adding anything superfluous. The company say they have not deviated from the original inspiration behind the Logan—to provide a modern, reliable and spacious car priced at €5,000 for the growing middle classes in emerging markets—since the project began in 1999.
After four years and 1 million unit sales in nearly 60 counties, the Logan low-cost car has fulfilled all its promises.
