The Arnold W. Siegel Award, established in 1987, recognizes a leader whose work has notably improved transport safety.
Cesari, who has worked in the traffic safety field since 1970, focuses primarily on pedestrian safety. He is a Senior Researcher and Deputy Director at INRETS, as well as Chairman of the European Enhanced Vehicle Safety Committee. He began his career as researcher analyzing in-depth accident studies. Since then, he has pioneered impact biomechanics research in France.
Cesari is the author of more than 200 scientific articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals and books and presented at conferences. He has received several industry awards, including the SAE International’s Arch T. Colwell Merit Award and the U.S. National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration’s Award for Safety
