One of Para Light’s best selling IR LED is the EP2 high power LED, particularly adapted for CCD camera illumination. Night illuminators with EP2 IR LEDs are installed above the street corners in Asian cities to facilitate CCD nighttime surveillance.
CCD camera night illumination usually employs 850nm infrared LED. A common CCD is sensitive to up to 1000nm wavelength. IR LED illuminator will not cause light pollution and it is not visible to human eyes. In the dark, subjects under surveillance are not aware that they are watched by the camera.
Para Light EP2 series infrared LED is a 0.6 watt device with 850nm wavelength. It can be driven by up to 350mA of continuous current. It is a very powerful and effective light source for CCD camera night illumination. For a typical application, say to shine subjects across the street, 200ma forward current gives adequate light and the lower forward current can prolong the LED’s life.
Para Light produce, on average, more than 200 million LED lamps and 20 million LED displays per month.
