The new generation Superb is showing off its independence. The common looking headlamps have been replaced with a set sporting a swept outline and an uncluttered interior.
Under the clear cover there is now the option to have the latest technology in forward lighting from the VW commonwealth: the Škoda is the first in the extended VW network to sport a fully adaptive front lighting system (AFS). The shape and reach of the illuminated area are modified according to the driving situation. For town driving between 15 and 50 kmph the beam becomes broader in order to illuminate curbs better. For motorway driving the beam above 90 kmph is raised a fraction and the left lane is illuminated. Curve lighting is dynamic.
Skoda also claims to have an adverse weather function, which reduces the veiling glare due to reflections on water droplets. The car was unveiled at Detroit Auto Shox
