The success of Logan, sold under both Renault and Dacia brands, was confirmed with sales rising more than 48% to 367,000 units. The Logan family grew in 2007 with the arrival of MCV and van versions. Sales are forecast to rise over 10% in 2008, driven by increases in all regions.
– Nissan sold a record 3.67 million vehicles under the Nissan and Infiniti brands last year, up 5.7 % over 2006. Significant new models introduced in 2007 included the Nissan recorded sales of over 1million units for the third consecutive year with a 5% increase in its largest market, the United States. In Japan, Nissan’s overall sales fell 6% to 721,000.
In Europe, annual sales increased slightly with a strong demand in Russia and the continued success of the UK-built Qashqai crossover offset challenging conditions in the mature markets.
In other global markets, Nissan sales increased by 8% to 1,02 million units. In China, sales in calendar year 2007 increased 25%.
