Just stepping back from a super-busy time in Shanghai – the DVN Event there gathered more than 650 people! Now we turn our focus to Europe with a full newsletter dedicated to the European automotive market. We will have time later to make a long summary about the Shanghai event and what is happening in China.
Next week is our main lighting event in France, which I am glad to lead with the French association of automotive engineers. 35+ exhibitors, 400+ attendees from 100+ different companies, 15+ demo cars with latest innovations from Stellantis, Mercedes, Murata, Vedecom, and Renault. A lot of new vehicles were presented in Europe last week, and I’ve scrutinized and analyzed their lamps. The Audi A2, Dacia Spring, and Volvo XC40/XC60 might well lead the top-selling list next year. We clearly see the importance of lighting in these vehicles with nice design (also on the A-segment cars) and ADB for safety.
I am also happy to publish the summary of my long visit to Fiat in Torino. When Stellantis advanced lamp designer Nadia Costa invited me to meet designers and engineers in Torino, I was more than happy to talk and listen about Fiat’s lamp design philosophy.
So, it’s a long newsletter this week! The content is quite diverse and intriguing. I’m happy to be back in Europe, digging into the list of lighting next events that are cooking.
