I spent time at Automotive interior expo in Stuttgart last week with some of my DVN interior team members to have a look at in-car lighting innovations.

Animated PCB film behind fabrics that give similar appearance to DLP projection system seen on Cupra Raval door trim:

MackSmaTec

Wire embedding technology process for heating wire. This technology is applied on the BMW iX3 headlamp, on Nissha film. This is possible to do with 2D or 3D wires, with a cycle time around 100mm per second.
MGC (Mitsubishi Gaz Chemical)
MGC presented a film forming technology. Compared to Niebling process, this is a low-pressure system, with high temperature (190 degrees Celsius). Cycle time around 150 seconds with geometrical tolerance ± 0.5 mm.

They have an anti-fog film in B-surface of outer lens, instead of the usual antifog coating.

And they have a UV film for outer lenses, instead of UV coating. They propose it for head-up displays or roofs, but may be also used for headlamp lenses.

Polycontact
They presented interesting autonomous driving backlighting system to see when the system is active on the steering wheel. The system is fixed on a Magnesium frame, like an add on – you clip it on.
