Geoff Draper, GTB President
Last week (21-25 November) GTB held its 122nd session in Taichung, hosted by the Taiwan Vehicle Lighting Association. The GTB General Assembly, Committee of Experts and the Working Groups had an overall attendance of more than 70 delegates from the 20 GTB delegations. This record-breaking session saw the election of the first GTB female working group chairperson and the majority of the attendance composed of experts from the Asian GTB delegations of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan.
As usual the agenda for the week-long session was very full and there was intense debate concerning the adoption of proposals to introduce LED light-sources for front-lighting applications and proposals for LED substitutes of filament light sources. A revised approach to the Conformity of Production provisions for AFS was also adopted. These proposals will be submitted to the April 2017 session of GRE.
