A Reuters report says heavily indebted automaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have had interest in Magneti Marelli from investor groups—including an offer of about €2.5bn which FCA rejected last month because the automaker wanted at least €3bn.
An FCA representative, however, says Magneti Marelli isn’t for sale. At least two U.S. private equity funds are seeking to enter joint bids with industry participants for Magneti Marelli, who supply a wide range of parts to all major carmakers in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
