24 cars with production and prototype lighting systems were presented last week at the VISION congress. Three circuits were used with eight vehicles per circuit. For logistical and safety reasons, participation was limited to 240 attendees.
The GREEN circuit, with sharp curves, included cars mainly equipped with LED and 25w HID headlamps. Although attendees in this circuit regretted no ADB or laser technologies being presented, very interesting lights were available nevertheless, including:
• Citroën DS3 with 25w BiXenon for the low beam plus three LED modules for the high beam as well. A nice light for a nice car: homogeneous, with enough light on the road and good width. The high beam, too, is very pleasant. See next more details.
• Skoda Octavia demonstrator from FLTC equipped with a BiLED headlamp. The light performance is at the level of halogen, but with a good energy savings.
• 2 demonstrators show Valeo’s BiLED and peopLED offerings. The first is very interesting and shows a good future, the second gives less light with nice styling possibilities.
