U.S. federal safety regulators are working with suppliers on technology to detect alcohol by a driver’s touch and breath. NHTSA’s Associate Administrator for Vehicle Safety Research Nat Beuse says the alcohol detection technology is one of several his agency is studying to lower traffic fatalities.
